Federal Trade Commission - National Resource for Identity Theft: Identity theft occurs when someone uses your personal information such as your name, Social Security number, credit card number or other identifying information, without your permission to commit fraud or other crimes.

Identity Theft Resource Center: A national Non-Profit organization that focuses exclusively on identity theft.

Privacy Rights Clearing House: A Non-Profit Consumer Information and Advocacy Group.

Social Security Publications: Publications on Identity Theft by the US Government.

Pennsylvania Breach of Personal Information Notification Act: Pennsylvania Senate Bill 713 requires businesses to notify individuals when a security breach results in their personal information being released to unauthorized parties and the security breach causes or will cause loss or injury to a Pennsylvania resident.
